Burton Albion kept their slim survival hopes alive at the weekend with a fantastic 3-1 win over Derby County, which also dented the Rams' play-off ambitions.

Liam Boyce, Luke Murphy and Lucas Akins were on the score sheet as Burton claimed a vital three points to climb off the bottom of the table.

However, there are still five points separating the Brewers from safety and with just three games remaining, staying up is looking increasingly likely.

In the summer, Burton beat a number of clubs to the signing of the Scottish Premiership's top scorer Liam Boyce.

At the time, many were tipping him for a great season in the Championship but just how well has he done in a yellow shirt?

Here, FLW shines a spotlight on Boyce's season so far at the Pirelli Stadium.

The truth is that the stats do not flatter him.

Boyce has netted just two goes in his 13 outings for Nigel Clough's men and has a shot conversion rate of just 13%, suggesting he has yet to find his feet in England and transfer his Scottish Premiership form into the Championship.

But perhaps these statistics do not show the whole picture.

The Northern Ireland international ruptured his ACL before the season started and many questioned whether he would feature at all for the Brewers.

But he has fought his way back onto the pitch and grabbed himself a couple of goals in a struggling side.

At the weekend, he netted against Derby and that goal might give him a lot of confidence ahead of their final three games.

His all round performance that day was excellent too as he showed plenty of passion, indicating that he is still up for this relegation battle.

It would have been interesting to see if Burton would be safe by now if Boyce had been fit and firing all season.
