It’s a big week for Cardiff City, who have the perfect opportunity to clinch promotion back to the Premier League.

Results over the course of the weekend in the Sky Bet Championship mean that Neil Warnock’s side are on the brink of promotion, with the Premier League in Cardiff’s sight.

As long as the Bluebirds better Fulham’s result this weekend, when Reading visit the Cardiff City Stadium, promotion will be achieved.

If results don’t go Cardiff’s way at the weekend they will still have the play-offs to fall back on, with Warnock firmly eyeing a Premier League return.

Whatever division Cardiff find themselves in, the summer if going to be huge for the Bluebirds, with plenty of work to be done in the transfer window.

With that in mind, we take a look at TWO players we believe Cardiff need to be tying deals up for in the coming weeks, and TWO others who should be moved out of the Cardiff City Stadium…

Hutton looks like he is heading for the Aston Villa exit door this summer, with the 33-year-old full-back out of contract.

Under Steve Bruce, Hutton has been fantastic, and next season, he will not be short of options.

Hutton would be a shrewd addition in either the Premier League or Championship.

Marshall looks like he will be leaving Wolves in the summer following their promotion.

Like Hutton, Marshall would be a good addition at Cardiff, with his style suiting how Warnock likes to play.

The £1.35m-rated midfielder will be on the radar of a few this summer, but Cardiff could be an attractive destination.

Peltier has been good for Warnock at Cardiff, but if promotion is achieved, it is hard to see how the defender will be kept on.

Premier League standard players will have to be signed, which will force Peltier out of the picture.

If promotion isn’t achieved, Peltier might be sticking around, but if Cardiff go up, as they are expected to, the defender might find himself on the hunt for a new club in the coming weeks.

Madine’s record since arriving at Cardiff has been poor, despite Warnock’s side still pushing for promotion.

Next season, it’s hard to see Madine earning Warnock’s full trust in the Championship or Premier League.

Cardiff could look to move the striker on before he loses too much of his current value.
