It has been a difficult season for Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Whites watching their play-off dream crumble after a disastrous start to 2018.

With eight fixtures of the season remaining, Leeds currently sit 14th in the Championship table, which is a stark contrast to where they started 2018, when they were well in the hunt for the play-offs.

One victory since the turn of the year has really hurt Leeds, with big questions now getting asked of the playing squad at Elland Road.

Members of Paul Heckingbottom’s squad are clearly not up to the challenge of promotion in the Championship, and Andrea Radrizzani’s recent comments to talkSPORT indicate a summer overhaul could be on the agenda.

A lot of Leeds’ squad seemingly have eight fixtures to save themselves from the axe, and here at FLW, we take a look at some of those players and identify THREE we believe Heckingbottom should ditch…

O’Kane has struggled in Leeds’ midfield for most of this season, after initially impressing under Thomas Christiansen.

It is hard to see what the Irishman brings centrally, as he lacks a creative edge and brings no physicality to a key area of the field.

Adam Forshaw looks like the man to take Leeds forward in midfield, alongside either Kalvin Phillips or Ronaldo Vieira, meaning it looks bleak for O’Kane heading into the summer.

Wiedwald hasn’t been good enough this season for Leeds, with the goalkeeper costing the Whites plenty of points with his poor decision-making.

Heckingbottom’s decision to drop Wiedwald for Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Leeds’ 21-year-old goalkeeper, looks to be the decision that will cost Wiedwald his place in the squad at Elland Road.

There doesn’t seem to be any route back for the German.

Since his permanent move back to Elland Road, Sacko has really struggled, failing to bring the spark that Leeds have lacked on occasion.

The £1.35m-rated Frenchman has potential, but hasn’t featured under either Christiansen or Heckingbottom and is certainly in the firing line heading into the summer.
