Alan Hutton has been excellent for Aston Villa this season in the Sky Bet Championship, with the 33-year-old rolling back the years with some exceptional performances at both right-back and left-back for Steve Bruce’s side.

The veteran full-back has helped Villa to second in the Championship table with some exceptional performances, but will be leaving the club in the summer with Villa not considering offering Hutton a new contract.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Hutton’s stats this season, comparing them to James Tavernier of Rangers, who has been one of the standout performers in Scottish football this season.

Hutton, valued at £1.35m, has made 24 appearances this season compared to Tavernier's 32.

Tavernier’s excellent ability as an attacking full-back has also shone through this season, with the 26-year-old grabbing six goals and eight assists.

The Rangers defender is superior to Hutton in that department, with the latter managing just two assists so far this season.

However, Tavernier has also scored an own-goal, and picked up more yellow cards than Hutton, as Rangers push on for another shot at European football next season.

Hutton’s £1.35m valuation makes him more valuable than his right-back rival, who is valued at just £585k despite his impressive form this season.
