Kasey Palmer is a man in-demand this summer with several Championship clubs keen on bringing the Chelsea youngster to the second-tier, including Norwich and Derby.
The 21-year old is highly-regarded at Stamford Bridge but as with many youngsters at the Premier League side he is a long way away from the first-team.
Therefore, another loan spell is inevitable for Palmer. He impressed at Huddersfield two years ago, playing a key role in their promotion, although he wasn’t as effective with the Rams who he signed for in January.
Nevertheless, he still made a contribution, as our graphic shows, and with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard now in charge at Pride Park he may be given more of a chance.
Many of his appearances from his time in the East Midlands were as a sub, yet his dribbles per game and pass success show that he was useful in possession.
That’s what Palmer’s game is about, beating players and creating chances with his pace, power and technique.
Obviously, they are qualities that both Derby and Norwich need, with the Rams sometimes predictable when going forward.
Meanwhile, the Canaries have just sold their most creative player in James Maddison but Palmer could help ease that big loss.
Either way, despite his age, the Chelsea man has shown he can be a very good player at this level and would be a major improvement for either side.
