Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers go head-to-head in Sky Bet League One this evening, with both clubs looking to climb their way into contention for a top-six finish.

Pompey, who are in their first year back in the third-tier, are currently 15th, one point behind 14th placed Bristol Rovers heading into tonight’s fixture.

Both Kenny Jackett and Darrell Clarke, Portsmouth and Bristol’s respective managers, are looking for some much-needed consistency at an early stage of the season, with neither club able to showcase their promotion credentials so far.

Here at FLW, we have looked to make a combined XI from the two clubs, using a traditional 4-4-2 formation.

We have opted for Luke McGee in goal, purely based on the fact that so far this season, the Portsmouth goalkeeper has conceded fewer goals in League One.

Ahead of McGee, we have opted for a 50/50 split in defence, with Nathan Thompson and Christian Burgess featuring from Pompey, whilst Tom Lockyer and Lee Brown make up the other half of our backline.

Again, we have gone for a mix in midfield, with Portsmouth’s, Stuart O’Keefe, partnering Bristol’s, Liam Sercombe, in the middles of the park, whilst Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth) and seven-goal Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), flank our midfield.

The experienced £1.13m-rated Brett Pitman, who has enjoyed a fine goalscoring start to the campaign for Portsmouth, partners Ellis Harrison in attack, with the latter part of a Bristol Rovers side who have scored 15 goals in League One already this season.

Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers fans… What do you make of our XI? Let us know your thoughts!
