Reading have had a far from good start to the season, and they'll be hoping to pick up their form when they travel to Bristol City on Saturday.

They have had a number of poor defeats, but it hasn't been for lack of trying with John Swift and Ovie Ejaria creating a number of chances for the Royals so far this campaign.

Jose Gomes' side will be looking to improve on their goal return having spent money on strikers Lucas Joao and George Puscas over the recent summer months.

Both have been good in different games, but neither have put together a consistent run or period of form and that will worry the Royals supporters after seeing their side lose four of their last five fixtures.

Puscas was greeted with a sense of excitement when he joined the Berkshire club from Inter Milan, but since his brace against Cardiff, his time in the side hasn't been what he or the Royals supporters would have wanted.

Against Fulham on Tuesday night, the striker did not have the best of times. He played 72 minutes of the fixture, but recorded no shots on-target and his other statistics weren't good reading either.

Despite his hard work throughout the games, and that he does do quite a bit, he has failed to consistently get on the scoresheet for the Royals. Puscas missed relatively easy chances against Middlesbrough, Swansea and Charlton as Reading look for him to supply the goalscoring touch this season.

During the game against Fulham, he failed to win even one aerial duel, and alongside that for his total duels the Romanian was only able to win 40% of them. An awful percentage which highlights that he's not doing enough when the ball comes to him.

He has been good with the ball at his feet, and that was evident for the goal he scored against Cardiff for the Royals. His 67% dribble success isn't a bad total for a striker and he should try to continue to succeed when coming up against slow defenders, potentially Ashley Williams could be a target for Puscas on Saturday.

There is a lot of potential there at just 23-years-old, but he has to start living up to it, otherwise his misses could be the difference between Portuguese boss Gomes staying in his job or not. This has to start as soon as possible, and no better place for Puscas to get a goal than at an in-form Bristol City side on the weekend.
