Charlton Athletic got back to winning ways at The Valley over the weekend, as they dispatched Luton 3-1 to move up to 18th place in the Championship table.

A brace from Lyle Taylor and another strike from Charlton academy graduate George Lapslie settled the scoreline in SE7, as the Addicks successfully bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

The Addicks have begun to pick up their form in recent weeks, and have now won three of their last six games.

Taylor's contribution proved to be crucial for Charlton, and the 29-year-old forward showed what he is capable of once again for Lee Bowyer's side.

Here, we look in depth at the forward's statistics from the weekend and break down the numbers...

Taylor's brace took his goal tally for the season to 11, which is all the more impressive considering he missed a large chunk of the season with a knee injury.

His first strike of the game was the pick of the bunch, taking a touch to set himself after being threaded through by David Davis, then proceeding to smash it into the far corner from the edge of the area from a tight angle.

The second was one of his trademark penalties, which Simon Sluga could do nothing about in the Luton goal.

Can you score 13/13 in this Charlton quiz?

Looking at the statistics, his xG of 0.88 during the course of the game was very impressive, and that was down to the fact that he scored from both of his shots on target.

He also had once successful dribble in the game out of his two attempts, and had a total of three touches in the opposition box

However, his passing accuracy was on the wayside at under 60%, and that could be improved on to bring his teammates in the game more.

Despite that, what we learnt from this game is that Taylor is a poacher who makes the most of the goalscoring opportunities that he finds himself in, and will be a key player for the Addicks in the run-in, providing he stays fit.
