Barnsley’s official Twitter account has delivered a message to the Midlands, following last night’s convincing victory over Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side.
Barnsley ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at Villa Park on Tuesday evening, completing a hat-trick of away victories in the Midlands this season for Paul Heckingbottom’s side, something Barnsley’s social media team took delight in sharing.
The Tykes also recorded a 4-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux back in September, before hammering Birmingham City 3-0 at St Andrew’s in December.
Tom Bradshaw’s double, combined with an Adam Armstrong penalty gave Heckingbottom’s side their victory against Villa last night, pushing Bruce’s side further into a relegation battle.
The victory sees Barnsley still with a chance of reaching the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs, with the Tykes sat ninth in the table, just six-points behind Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Barnsley can further influence the race for promotion this weekend, when they face Brighton and Hove Albion.
Chris Hughton’s side are currently second in the table, and will be looking to overtake Newcastle United in the race for the title.
