Football League World's Swansea City fan pundit Jacob Bellayuto insists that the club could stand to benefit if goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt were to leave in January.

The Swedish shot-stopper revealed to his native outlet Fotbollskanalen recently that he is not happy at the club and would be open to a move away in the January transfer window.

But Bellayuto insists that, after last season, there has been unrest in the goalkeeping department at the club and that Nordfeldt leaving could settle that.

"Woodman is on loan which is slightly worrisome," the regular punter told Football League World.

"Hopefully we could make him permanent, especially if we are promoted.

"If not, Nordfeldt exiting would still leave a stable situation behind with (Erwin) Mulder as the number one and the young Steven Benda as his backup.

"So, with that being said, I don’t think Swansea would need to be in a rush to find a replacement for him if he leaves.

"All of this is not to say I dislike Nordfeldt. I think he is a good keeper.

"But he just couldn’t get past Woodman, and he seems to have always been viewed as on par with Erwin Mulder, which led to an unsettled keeper situation when there was an opening last season."

The 30-year-old made the move to South Wales in the summer of 2015 and has made a total of 46 appearances in that time, keeping 12 clean sheets.

However, this season has seen him make just three appearances in all competitions, with all three coming in the EFL Cup and has failed to make Steve Cooper's matchday squad since their 0-0 draw with Bristol City.

Freddie Woodman has been the man tasked with keeping the goal safe this season and has done an excellent job so far, conceding just seven goals in ten matches.

Erwin Mulder remains the only other option in goal, if Nordfeldt is to move on in January, but having already made nearly 30 appearances for the club, he is likely to be trusted by Cooper if he is needed.
