Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing loan move for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the Daily Star Newspaper.

Drinkwater could be an astute signing
Drinkwater is a loan target for Wolverhampton Wanderers

The 24-year-old has found himself in and out of the Leicester City starting eleven this season in the Premier League, and has more often than not been ousted by Esteban Cambiasso.

Drinkwater has been at the Foxes since 2012 and has amassed 122 appearances for the club, and has scored ten goals.

The 5ft 9 central midfielder joined Leicester City from Manchester United in 2012, and has spent the majority of his career out on loan.

Drinkwater has had a wealth of experience of plying his trade in the Football League, having had stints at Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Watford and Barnsley.

Wolves currently sit in eighth place in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 57 points from 34 league games.

Kenny Jackett's side are three points outside the top six in the division, and the addition of Drinkwater could be vital in aiding a play-off push in the latter stages of the season.

The central midfielder has experience of getting promoted from the Championship, having guided the Foxes to the top-flight last season.
