Wigan Athletic could face a battle to keep hold of Max Power in January with Championship interest in the the midfielder, according to reliable journalist, Alan Nixon.

Wigan, who are embroiled in a relegation battle, are believed to value Power at more than the offer that they have received and with the Latics under no pressure to sell, it seems unlikely the midfielder will leave.

Since Power arrived at Wigan last season from Tranmere Rovers, who had just been relegated out of League Two, Power has impressed at The DW Stadium and he was a driving force in Wigan’s romp to the League One title last season.

Wigan will most likely struggle to recruit in January given the seemingly perilous position that they are in, so keeping hold of their best players could be the best business Warren Joyce could do in the window.

Wigan fans… Would Power be a big loss for you? If he went who would you like to see him replaced with? Let us know your thoughts below!
