West Bromwich Albion forward Hal Robson-Kanu is set to sign a new deal at The Hawthorns, according to reports from the Telegraph.

The 30-year-old arrived at The Hawthorns on a free transfer in 2016, after being let go by Reading upon the expiry of his contract at the Madejski Stadium.

The Wales international has since made just shy of 100 appearances for the West Midlands side, scoring a total of just nine goals since making the move to the West Midlands.

The striker, who is yet to find the back of the net in five appearances this season, has now entered the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season.

But as well as claiming that the club have offered young defender Nathan Ferguson a new five-year deal, the Telegraph also claim that Robson-Kanu is set to sign a new 12-month extension.

The Baggies have made a magnificent start to the season - Slaven Bilic's side sit top of the Sky Bet Championship table after 11 games, having won six matches and scored 21 goals thus far this term.

The Verdict

This is a piece of news that is likely to divide West Brom fans.

Robson-Kanu may be an experienced player who has great experience and knowhow to pass onto the younger players, but his goalscoring record since joining West Brom has been dreadful.

They have two better strikers at the club in Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore, and having just signed young striker Cheikh Diaby, I don't see why they should offer Robson-Kanu a new deal just yet.
