West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is a name under consideration for Everton as they step up their search for Frank Lampard's replacement.

The Premier League strugglers made the decision to sack the former England international on Monday after a poor run of form that has left them in the relegation zone.

Now, it's about finding his successor and it has been reported by the Telegraph that Marcelo Bielsa has emerged as the top target.

However, in an update that will worry Albion fans, they also claim that Corberan is on the list of potential options for the Toffees after the outstanding work he has done at The Hawthorns.

Corberan, who previous worked with Bielsa at Leeds, has taken the Baggies from the bottom three to within just one point of the top six.

As well as that, the Spaniard impressed at Huddersfield, taking them to the play-off final despite working on a very limited budget in comparison to rivals in the division.

Everton are aiming to name their new boss by their game against Arsenal on February 4.

The verdict

In truth, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Corberan is attracting attention from the Premier League because he has done a magnificent job with Albion.

He has quickly organised the group, made them hard to beat and got the better players performing well, so you can see why Everton would think he could help them to safety.

So, this is one to monitor in the coming days and all connected to Albion will hope that Bielsa does land the job and Corberan stays put!
