Barnsley striker Kieffer Moore has left the club to join Championship rivals Wigan Athletic, the Yorkshire side have confirmed.

Moore joined Barnsley from Ipswich Town in January 2018, and scored a total of 23 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions for The Tykes, which included 17 strikes in their League One promotion campaign last season, helping the club to make an immediate return to the Championship as runners up behind Luton Town.

In a statement announcing the striker's departure, Barnsley revealed that the club had reluctantly accepted an offer for Moore after the Welshman had expressed a desire to leave the club.

The striker has now signed a three-year contract with Wigan, moving to the DW Stadium for an undisclosed fee, previously reported to be worth around £3million.

Taking to Twitter to react to the news of Moore's departure, a number of Barnsley fans appeared confident of coping without the striker on their return to the Championship, while paying tribute to his contribution to the club during his time at Oakwell.

Here, we take a look at what some of those fans had to say.
