Loads of Swansea City fans have flooded Mike van der Hoorn with messages after the defender shared a personal message.

It comes after the news that the Dutchman will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in the warm-up against Brentford in December - something which has forced him to miss the last eight games.

QUIZ: Can you remember the scores from Swansea’s first 12 games of this season?

Prior to missing that Brentford match last year, the 27-year-old had started a phenomenal 70 consecutive matches for the club, a run which stretched back to the final day of the 2017/18 campaign.

He had formed an excellent partnership with Swansea youth graduate Joe Rodon, a pairing which was the foundation of their play-off push this season.

With just one win in their previous seven matches, however, those ambitions have taken a knock with their Wednesday night defeat to Fulham leaving them five points behind.

He is a fan favourite at The Liberty so it was no surprise to see him receive so many messages after sharing the post...
