Millwall comfortably dispatched an in-form Reading side at The Den on Saturday thanks to goals from Matt Smith and former Royal Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

The Lions are now up to seventh in the Championship table and have a great opportunity at breaking into the top six come the end of the season.

Having improved immensely under Gary Rowett, there is still room for them to get even better, here are TWO things that Millwall could make even better after the weekend victory...

Start on the front-foot

This is important for Rowett and his side. Yes, it was a great win and performance on the weekend but Millwall have to make sure that they're able to start on the front-foot and quicker in certain games.

The first-half was a bit of a boring affair and both sides had very few chances to break the deadlock. Reading came close through Sam Baldock but apart from that there wasn't much in it. If the Lions want to finish in the top six come the end of the season then they have to make sure that they start games in a certain manner that won't cost them points in the future.

Confidence in possession

This is key for the Lions. In the first-half they couldn't quite put their foot on the ball and then in the second they were able to get players like Ryan Woods in possession and he started to dictate the game and feed Jed Wallace the ball in attacking areas.

If Millwall can go on and believe in their midfielders more then they will only continue to improve from here. The Lions have done an excellent job of mixing it up in recent weeks and if they keep doing so more and more then they have the ability to trouble any side in the division.
