Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa cannot help but be satisfied with how his side are performing this season, but this has not stopped him looking to strengthen his squad, as he looks to achieve automatic promotion from the Championship this season.

One option being considered by Bielsa is an attempt to recruit winger Jarrod Bowen from rivals Hull City, according to a report on 90min, with the 22-year-old having another fine season with 14 goals in 20 league appearances.

How much of a coup would it be if Leeds if managed to land Bowen? Can you realistically see it happening?

“This would be an immense signing if Leeds somehow pulled it off and would probably be just what Leeds need to ensure automatic promotion.

“Bowen has been in scintillating form over the last 18 months for the Tigers, scoring 36 league goals and currently helping the side to an outside push for the play-offs.

“Leeds’ main stumbling block this season has been their inability to convert chances efficiently, despite creating heaps of them, so Bowen would be a terrific solution to this issue.

“I’m unsure as to whether Leeds could afford the deal with a host of clubs interested and Hull seemingly intent on keeping him until the summer, but it would be a marvellous coup for Marcelo Bielsa.”

Chris Thorpe

"I would be very surprised if Hull did business with a team in the same league as themselves, as it is clear they would be strengthening a rival by selling Bowen to the Elland Road club.

"With the winger's contract up in the summer, Leeds would in theory be able to snare the wide man on a cheap and in turn strengthen their forward options, with Bielsa clearly keen to see more goals from his side.

"Bowen would ideally play from the right hand side of a midfield four at Leeds as this would allow him to cut inside onto his favoured left foot, whilst it is also fair to assume that he could play in behind Bamford.

"Overall I believe this could be a great coup for the Whites, as it would not only strengthen the squad but also give them a tighter grip on the automatic promotion spots."

Ben Lang

"If Leeds are to do transfer business in January, there are surely few players they would realistically want to sign more than Bowen given his previous Championship exploits.

"Bowen is a player with lethal attacking ability and he would be a great fit for this Leeds side, while he would also not look out of place in the Premier League if Leeds are promoted this season.

"It is unlikely Bielsa will want there to be many changes to his side in January given their successful first half of the season, but he would surely jump at the chance to sign Bowen midway through the campaign.

"It remains to bee seen whether Leeds will be willing to pay the funds for Bowen, while the attacker would also need guarantees regarding game time, but there can be no doubting it would be an excellent signing if Leeds pull it off."
