Football League World's Charlton Athletic fan pundit Kieran Keogh has given his reflection on the loss of key midfielder Josh Cullen, with the West Ham loanee having been ruled out with damaged ankle ligaments until after the Christmas period.

The Irishman has been in good form for the Addicks this term, playing a part in 16 Championship games so far, whilst registering one goal and one assist for his side.

His presence will be sorely missed by a Charlton side who are currently on a run of seven games without a victory, whilst they also have a largely depleted squad due to various other absentees who are sidelined through injury.

We caught up with Keogh earlier this week to discuss how much Cullen will be missed by the south Londoners and here is what our fan pundit had to say on the matter:

"This is a huge blow for our midfield, Cullen is almost like the glue that holds the midfield together, we saw that in Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

"We need him back as soon as possible."

The Charlton fan then commented on who he felt could fill the void that has been left in the centre by the 23-year-old's enforced absence:

"Conor Gallagher will be back this weekend so he may move out of his normal position to cover Cullen, that is the best case scenario available to us for now I think.

"Other than that we haven't really got anyone fit who can do a job there like Cullen.

"Albie Morgan is a very talented player and he’s still only 19 so he’s got his whole career ahead of him and he didn't do too bad on Saturday, seeing as he was throwing up before kick-off!"

This is an injury that Charlton definitely didn't need and as such Lee Bowyer will once again have to make do with the limited personnel he has available to him as the Addicks seek to snap back into form in the coming weeks.
