If Leeds have anything, they have an absolutely outstanding academy that consistently churns out top talent towards their first team squad.

The likes of Lewis Cook and Sam Byram, both produced by Leeds' academy, have both been sold off for big bucks to Bournemouth and West Ham respectively, with Charlie Taylor another expected to leave in January.

This has been a great way of funding transfer deals over the years for Leeds and, though it's disappointing to lose good, promising youngsters, it is a fantastic cash flow into the club, which many others miss out on due to the fairly inconsistent quality of their academy players.

But Leeds frequently do it right and they do it well, with batch after batch making the first team grade, and that's no different this year.

Here, FLW writer Charlie Firth takes a look at three Leeds wonderkids who could be worth a lot of money in the next five years....

Tyler Denton

A potential successor to Charlie Taylor, who looks bound to leave the club over the next year, Tyler Denton penned a new three-year contract in August before adding another year this week.

He won the game against Luton Town in the EFL Cup at the start of the season, earning a name from himself and taking him a step closer to the first team set up.

He's been compared to Leeds legend Ian Harte, who, funnily enough, is his agent, a man who scored 39 goals for Leeds in just under 300 appearances from left back.

The versatile defender is definitely one to watch, and could be worth a lot in a few years.

Alex Mowatt

It's been a frustrating season for Mowatt, who over the last couple of years has really shifted up the gears in terms of his performances, but finds himself in an unnatural position on the left wing this season.

He'll hope to either become adapted to his new position in Garry Monk's system of hope to be moved back to the centre of the park, where he's been most influential for Leeds in recent years.

His magnificent left foot has seen him score some stunning Leeds goals across the seasons, and if he can continue his progress, he'll soon be worth an awful lot of money.

Kalvin Phillips

Highly rated by the majority at Leeds, Kalvin Phillips has really progressed at the club and is on his way to becoming a first-teamer at the tender age of 20.

He showed just how good he can be with his performance against Ipswich Town a few weeks ago, displaying a wide range of passing and seamlessly filling in for the experienced Liam Bridcutt and putting in a fine shift.
