Leeds United have been one of the quieter clubs during the January transfer window, with not many comings or goings.

Garry Monk’s side are currently fourth in the Sky Bet Championship and look set for a promotion challenge during the second-half of the campaign.

Despite this, Monk has kept his January transfer business minimal- with only Pablo Hernandez joining the club permanently.

There has been more action with players leaving Leeds United, Luke Murphy recently joined Burton Albion on-loan and Toumani Diagouraga joining Ipswich Town until the end of the season.

Monk specified he wanted to make “one or two” additions to his squad this month and more outgoings look like happening for this to happen.

Here are TWO players that could follow Diagouraga out of the exit door this January.....

Ross Turnbull

Since joining Leeds in the summer of 2015, Turnbull has made just one senior appearance, against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup.

At the start of the month, along with Murphy and Diagouraga, Turnbull was told he could look for another club - so an exit seems to be on the cards.

Rob Green and Marco Silvestri have started games in the league and cup competitions respectively, and seem a shoe-in for Monk’s number one and two.

Youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who made his debut against QPR last season, offers Leeds cover in case of injury or suspension to Green and Silvestri.

This leaves the Champions League winner, Turnbull, as surely the next player to be heading out of the Elland Road exit door.

Alex Mowatt

Academy product Mowatt first broke onto the scene in 2013, and his long-range strikes and goal scoring form saw him become a crowd favourite at Elland Road.

Mowatt scored nine goals during the 2014/15 season, when he was also named as the club’s player of the year, but his form has dipped over the last 18-months.

His poor form has resulted in him earning just seven starts across all competitions this season, and has been used as back up to Pablo Hernandez for large parts of the season.

Mowatt impressed recently against Cambridge United in the FA Cup, where he scored his only goal of the season, but has been limited to two substitute appearances since then.

The midfielder is expected to start against Sutton United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, but his chances in the league are becoming rare.

With Mowatt out of contract in the summer, and no sign of Leeds renewing it, the youngster could find himself looking for opportunities elsewhere.
