Since their relegation from the Premier League in 2003/04, it has been a turbulent thirteen year hiatus in the lower leagues for Leeds United.

The saga has included relegation to the third tier, takeover by an eccentric Italian businessman and way too many managers.

However, throughout this madness, one thing has remained constant: the famed academy.

Leeds United have a serious reputation for developing young talent in their academy and handing them first team opportunities.

The likes of Sam Byram, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt have all progressed through the academy and made names for themselves on the Elland Road turf before departing - the former two to the Premier League and Mowatt to Barnsley for more playing time.

In their current first team, there are a number of academy graduates, such as Charlie Taylor, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira.

Here, I look at 2 Leeds United players who will be worth big money within a few years.

Mallik Wilks

Mallik Wilks has all the physical attributes to make it in the game: speed, strength, desire and an eye for goal.

The 18-year-old can play as a striker or as a winger and he has already made his first team debut against Sutton in the FA Cup.

This young lad is highly rated at Leeds and is one to keep your eyes on.

Ronaldo Vieira

Despite only making his first team debut this season, Ronaldo Vieira looks at home in the Championship already.

The combative defensive midfielder has racked up 29 games for Leeds this season and has established himself as a regular under Garry Monk.

There are aspects of Vieira's game that still need work but at just 18-years-old he has the world at his feet and he is destined for a career at the very top level.
