Bristol City's 2016/17 season has been far from ideal under the guidance of Lee Johnson as manager, despite a promising start to the campaign, it has diminished into a relegation fight as they look to stay in the Championship for a third successive year.

Although the Robins may be fighting for their lives, it really is time to start thinking ahead and for many seasons to come.

In the past they have developed some bright young talents who have gone on to become successes in the second-tier and Premier League.

Those include injured Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, who was playing at Ashton Gate prior to making the move to Crystal Palace and then Goodison Park.

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling was also once a Bristol City player. He made a name for himself there having signed from Yeovil Town, and is now enjoying a promotion battle at Elland Road.

The club now need to develop their own young stars, and they're doing that as here are TWO who could be worth serious money in the years to come....

Zak Vyner

The 19-year-old defender has been tipped to have a bright future at City but in order to get into the first-team, he was sent out on-loan to League Two outfit Accrington Stanley for the first six months.

Zak Vyner is now back at Ashton Gate following making a good impression at the Wham Stadium and made his season debut for the Robins late last month in a FA Cup defeat to Burnley.

His first Championship match for the club came roughly this time last year in a 2-0 victory over eventual relegated MK Dons.

The point is that Vyner, despite being a defender, will be worth mega money in the near future if he gets regular game time and could go onto become a real star within the team.

Jonny Smith

Jonny Smith plays further up the pitch than Zak Vyner, and he has made a real name for himself.

At 19 years of age, the winger began his career at Wrexham but signed for the Robins in May of last year. In order to develop, the club sent him out to Cheltenham Town in the fourth-tier - Smith made 5 appearances for them.

During his time at Whaddon Road, the Liverpool-born player was handed his Football League debut which came in a 1-0 loss to Doncaster Rovers.

Smith has shown signs of promise and if his improvement continues at this rate then it's only one or two years before we see him being chased by the country's giants, with multi-million pound offers.

Bristol City supporters, do you agree with these two players? Are Vyner and Smith likely to become City stars? Who else is capable to be worth millions in the future?
