James Milner

For me he is one of the greatest players Leeds United have ever produced.

A dynamic prolific midfielder for the Whites as he burst on the scene to score teo goals against Chelsea, and also became the youngest player at 16 to ever play for a Premier League club, beating a record set by Wayne Rooney 2 years earlier.

His performances are never worldbeaters, but he causes numerous problems for the opposition and has been quoted to be one of the toughest midfielders to play against by a host of Premier League players.

Dynamism, pragmatism and professionalism follow Milner wherever he plies his trade.

A glittering Premier League CV sees him start at his beloved Leeds, to Newcastle, Villa, City and now Liverpool and after having an array of caps for England and a certain seat on the plane to the Euros, you cannot discount the Leeds lad as one of the greatest academy products produced.

Jonathan Woodgate

The best Leeds United centre back ever.

A bold but honest statement.

The world class Teesider was completely underrated as the England man was one of the most solid defenders we have ever seen.

Not matched since the likes of Jackie Charlton or Norman Hunter, Woodgate was held up in the highest esteem by Leeds fans as his solidity, aggressiveness and pure class won over the Leeds fans and much of the national media.

After Leeds' incredible Champions League semi final feat, Woodgate was the beating heart of the defence and won over many admirers after pulling out 10/10 performances for The Whites and even England.

Woodgate, riddled with injury was highly unlucky with his career.

But lets be honest, a move to Real Madrid shows how highly thought of the Smoggie lad was.

From a council estate in the Boro, Woodgate would have his name etched as one of the greatest Leeds players to have ever kicked a ball.

Alan Smith

Controversial and to be honest, it pains me to talk of him.

Lucky number 17, Smith was the golden boy of a generation which saw Leeds reach the top of the Premiership to then plunder into adversity typified by a teary Smith sobbing into his Leeds shirt, echoing to the Leeds fans "We will be back, marching on together!".

His Elland Road career was one of fond memories for Smith and the Leeds fans.

His goal against Lazio to end the English streak of losses out in Italy and his frequent winners against the arch enemy Manchester United and the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, before kissing the badge and saluting the fans put the Rothwell born Smith into Leeds folk law.

But all good things come to an end, Leeds were relegated and Smith saw his time to move.

Smith went on to break Leeds hearts and move on to Manchester United.

He excelled and underwent a superb career change as he moved from a goalscorer to a solid tough midfielder ran by Keane and Scholes.

Smith went on to become a great player for the red devils and was squandered by injury as he broke his leg against Liverpool and never really recovered.

People talk of his return to Elland Road, after his move to Manchester United, Leeds wouldn't have him back, but lets be honest, even now, for a season would you? I certainly would.

Lucky 17.

Charlie Taylor

The relatively new Taylor has made an incredible mark as far as left backs are concerned at Elland Road.

The lad is a lifelong Leeds fan and used to go to the games frequently as a kid.

His trademark left foot was brought onto the scene after an incredible debut as Taylor whipped in two absolute pearlers for oncoming Ross McCormack to tuck away, as Taylor wheeled away in celebration to condemn the London side to a defeat on his debut.

His consistent performances have been one to behold this season for a Leeds United fan.

The yearn for a quality left back has been significant for Leeds with Crainey, White and Parker all being moved on, but not Taylor.

The Leeds born lad has rare quality, for me, the best youngster in the squad, above Cook, controversial but why? Taylor puts in more of a shift than anyone on the pitch, he never loses the ball and puts Leeds in ridiculously promising situations.

Taylor is in the same bracket as Aaron Cresswell and Baines. Any of the Left backs would struggle against Taylor and at a young age of 22, he has years of promise ahead of him.

Oh yeah and he has kept the likes of Gareth Bale and Wilfried Zaha completely quiet on occasions.

Harry Kewell

Harry Kewell

Leeds fans are still bitter about the Australian born winger, 'Judas' still rings round the Elland Road stadium.

His undeniably unloyal move to Galatasaray, a team who left a horrific mark on the Elland Road faithful didn't leave him in good stead with the Yorkshire club.

Kewell will struggle to ever get his name in Leeds folk law as the likes of Milner, Smith or Woodgate would, but you cannot take the ridiculous quality away from the Australian as he tore up defences and wing backs for years.

His quality in the modern era would compare him to Gareth Bale, if Kewell were to sell now it would be for staggering money.

His pace, trickery, dribbling, finishing and cocky attitude loathed opposition fans and made the Leeds fans absolutely adore him.

Kewell was one in a million and was undoubtedly one of Leeds' greatest ever talents.

Leeds Fans do you agree with this? Who else would you put in this squad, let me know in the comments below!
