There have been some great Championship campaigns in season gone by, but this one could well go down as the best of the lot.

The bottom three has been settled, and MK Dons, Charlton and Bolton will be joining League One next season, whilst the race for the play-offs are down to just one team from two.

However, all eyes, and rightly so, are on the top, and the three teams on the same amount of points.

Middlesbrough, Burnley and Brighton have been by and away the best this season, and any one of them would be worthy winners.

However, just two can go into the promised land of the Premier League automatically, whilst one will have to settle for a play-off place.

So, in descending order and in the opinion of FLW's Ryan Evans, is the THREE most important Sky Bet Championship games left this season......

3) Brighton vs Derby: Monday 2nd May, 2.30pm KO, Amex Stadium

Home advantage could well separate the two teams here. Derby led the table not so long ago, but, as is becoming annual tradition, fell away and were clinging on to the top six at one point. Paul Clement has gone out, and Darren Wassall has managed to regroup his inherited team and the Rams are finishing strongly. They are unbeaten since the start of April, and have won five of their last seven.

Impressively, they are also level on points will Hull City, who were a long way ahead earlier in 2016.

Brighton, though, are the form team of the division, and are unbeaten in the league this calendar year. With five wins on the bounce and having scored 16 goals in that time, they may well have too much for this repaired Derby side.

Either way, it could be crucial in setting up a good position for Albion to win the league, as rivals 'Boro face a tricky trip to Birmingham whilst Burnley have QPR at home.

2) Sheffield Wednesday vs Cardiff: Saturday 30th April, 3pm KO, Hillsborough

Moving our attention away from the title race for just a moment, there is still a fight for sixth spot to keep an eye on.

The Owls are currently the occupiers of that final play-off spot, on 71 points, whilst Cardiff are four further back and the only team that can displace Wednesday from the play-offs.

There meeting on Saturday could spell the end of the Welsh sides challenge, as a victory for Carlos Carvalhal and his men will put them seven clear with just three more points to play for. However, should Russell Slade come out victorious, the fight would get ten times more interesting, with the gap just one point.

On the final day, Wednesday have to travel to Wolves whilst Cardiff play Birmingham in the Welsh capital, so the Owls will want to put their place in the top six beyond any doubt as soon as possible.

1) Middlesbrough vs Brighton: Saturday 7th May, 12.30pm KO, Riverside

Of course this is the most important match. No matter what happens, both teams will still be in with a chance for a top two spot on the final day, and no team can be ruled out of the race until the full-time whistle a week on Saturday.

With Burnley having an easier run-in of QPR and Charlton, both teams will have to assume that the Clarets will be taking their final six points. This means if either side has any hope of winning the league, they will have to win both of their games, and well.

Essentially, the winner here will go up, the loser is in the play-offs. It should be quite some match, and it's almost impossible to call.
