Reading have made a total of 10 signings this summer, strengthening all areas of the pitch, which could put them in contention for a top-half finish at the end of the season.

Some fans will even be expecting a promotion push this campaign with the intent that owner Dai Yongge has shown this summer. Goalkeepers Joao Virginia and Brazil international Rafael have joined Reading this summer, strengthening that department.

Meanwhile, Michael Morrison and Matt Miazga have come in to shore up the heart of Reading's defence, although Morrison may play a less important role in the side this season with the loan signing of Miazga.

With the exception of defensive midfielders Charlie Adam and Pele, the rest of Reading's signings have been more attacking, leaving manager Jose Gomes with a nice selection dilemma going into the weekend.

The game at the KCOM Stadium kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, where the Royals will be looking for the first win of the season against Grant McCann's Hull City side. The Tigers will also be desperate for a win, after their agonisingly narrow defeat to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium last week.

Here is how Reading's attack should lineup against Hull City if they want to take all three points back to Berkshire...

CAM: John Swift

Even though Ovie Ejaria will be favourite for this position when he fully settles back in at Reading, Swift is likely to be in the starting eleven on Saturday after a promising performance against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

With the signing of Pele on loan from French side AS Monaco on Tuesday, this will allow John Swift to play in a more advanced position as opposed to being forced to play in defensive midfield. This is something he had to do last Saturday.

If he recaptures the sort of form that he showed in the 2016/17 season for the Royals, where the club reached the play-off final, he could be a vital player in helping Reading achieve a top-half finish in the league this season.

LW: Lucas Boye

The reported imminent departure of Mo Barrow is likely to allow Boye to make his debut for Reading on Saturday at the KCOM Stadium. The winger joined on loan from Serie A side Torino as the Royals looked to enhance their creative options in midfield and attack.

Boye impressed out on loan for AEK Athens last season, the club which former Reading loanee Nelson Oliveira ended up at this summer after strongly being linked with a move back to the Madejski Stadium. At 23, Lucas Boye desperately needs regular first team football and that's what he's likely to get in Berkshire.

Although Boye is likely to make several appearances for the club as a new signing, he will have competition from the likes of Josh Barrett and Michael Olise for a spot in the starting lineup. Striker Lucas Joao may also be played on the wings to accommodate George Puscas on the team sheet.

RW: Yakou Meite

With the signings of George Puscas and Lucas Joao, Meite may be forced out on to the wing in the future if he has any chance of playing in the starting eleven for Reading. This is tough on Meite, who had scored 12 goals last season to help keep the Royals afloat in the Championship last season.

Even though he may be forced to play out on the wing, Meite still has the ability to score just as many goals in the league this season as he did in the last campaign if he plays regularly. Reading will need as many goals as they can get if they are to do well this season.

ST: Lucas Joao

Although Reading fans will be eager to see George Puscas make his first start on Saturday, fellow new signing Lucas Joao has had one more training session with the Royals and is likely to start up front on Saturday as he looks to hit the ground running at his new club.

He scored at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday for former side Sheffield Wednesday against Reading in the first game of the Championship season, and will be looking to carry this momentum in to the weekend.

Whether he can perform consistently remains to be seen. He has the ability to become a brilliant player. If any manager has the ability to get the best out of the Portuguese striker, Jose Gomes is the man.
