Bristol Rovers have started the season better off than what anyone could have imagined, sitting pretty in the League One Playoffs 12 games into the campaign.

Coughlan has got all of his players singing off the same hymn sheet as Rovers are in a rich vein of form at the minute, having picked up 21 points from their league games so far and only lost the three games in the league so far as the men from north Bristol continue to get better as the season goes on.

Here, we take a look at Coughlan's likely XI that he will field away at Doncaster to try and keep the Pirates' good form in the league going...

Bristol Rovers are only expected to make one change from their most recent 1-0 win over MK Dons, which takes Rovers into reach of the automatic promotion spots, and that one change comes in goal with Anssi Jaakola returning and expecting to replace second-choice keeper Jordi Van Stoppershoef.

In front of Jaakola, a no-nonsense centre-back trio made up of the experienced Tony Craig, young Alfie Kilgour and steady Tom Davies will be the ones aiming to stop the Doncaster attack throughout the afternoon.

Luke Leahy takes up the left wing-back spot after his assist for Davies' winner in the MK Dons victory, while Alex Rodman will continue as the right wing-back despite Mark Little's return to fitness.

In the midfield three, Ed Upson and Liam Sercombe are likely to start after only being forced off in the MK Dons victory because of cramp, and despite captain Ollie Clarke now being back to full fitness, Abu Ogogo is the midfielder who takes up the third spot in the centre of midfield.

Up front, the misfiring but creative Tom Nichols is likely to partner the tenacious Tyler Smith as Rovers seek for another three points.
