Wolves coach Kenny Jackett will no doubt be frustrated at this season's performance, with the club not really challenging for a top six spot all season.

Consecutive goalless draws, before their win over Sheffield Wednesday, have left Wolves in a non-flattering position as they look to Jackett to redefine the good times in the Midlands.

The up for sale club have been missing on all cylinders alongside being in a mediocre 14th position.

Wolves have got the capabilities in the squad but without the trio of dynamic players in Dicko, Afobe and Sako, they are struggling to be clinical in situations.

Jackett will need to modify his squad if they look to solidify top six next season in the Sky Bet Championship, here is FLW Conor McGilligan's DREAM Wolves XI for next season.....

Carl Ikeme

ikeme

Ikeme has been keeping Wolves in some games, with the club not firing upfront but not conceding at the back.

His leadership and commanding ability has had him sought after for many years.

The experience in the squad is vital and something that Jackett has said is lacking, the 28-year-old Ikeme has been at the squad for years and is a solid addition, essential in any promotion targeting Wolves side.

Matt Doherty

The player of the season candidate Doherty, has been one of Wolves' key players this campaign.

Injuries have been a key issue with Wolves this season as Doherty highlighted in a recent interview.

Doherty scored the most recent goal at Molineux and once again the lack of creativity for Wolves has meant the squad haven't been firing the goals in.

However their backline has been quite solid this season with a collection of cleansheets which could have been worse, if the likes of Doherty hadn't been solidifying the rearguard.

With a voice and an opinion off the pitch too with his recent bashing of the squad's performances, Doherty would be a superb player to have in a promotion chasing team.

Danny Batth

batthhhhh

Batth is a quality part of the Wolves side and I think any fan who wants him out is really missing the point of Batth's integral influence in this squad.

A voice, a leader and above all a captain, Batth has all the attributes to become a Wolves legend. His height, physicality and aerial threat is as much of an offensive threat as a defensive one.

His equaliser against Burnley a real highlight from Batth's season, but it is one to forget as the captain hopes for better things next season.

Dominic Iorfa

iorfaaaaa

Iorfa has been a revelation for Wolves this season and if the Championship outfit can keep hold of him, he could be like a new signing for Wolves next season as he continues to grow and become better each week.

44 appearances this season for the Nigerian who has only just turned 20, has many Premier League clubs eyeing up the youngster.

His physical attributes are man made for any Championship side and his services have made Wolves a much stronger unit at the back.

Recently Jackett has come out and expressed his notion to build the team around Iorfa and a couple of other youth players, so if the Midlands club are serious about promotion they need this guy to stick around.

Steven Whittaker

Steven Whittake90

With experience needed at Molineux, Whittaker could be the perfect mould.

The 31-year-old began the season in the Norwich team but after a red card at Southampton has struggled for game time, and since October he hasn’t featured. Whittaker brings a host of international caps and Championship promotion experience with him, something vital for Wolves next season.

David Edwards

edwards33

Edwards knows how it feels to be part of a successful team at Molineux, as Wolves marginally missed out on the play-offs only a season ago.

The Welshman has been capped for Wales over 30 times and boasts a cool goal scoring record and assist ratio at the second tier level.

He has been out of action for most of the season after suffering a broken metatarsal in January.

Edwards has made his return but once the experienced 30-year-old Wolves veteran is fully back in action and 100% fit, he could be the difference for Wolves next season.

Conor Coady

Conor CoadyConor Coady

Coady is still raw at a young age of 22 and has the making of a tough makeshift midfielder reflected in his disciplinary record with over seven yellow cards and one red throughout this campaign, he could have the brawn and steel within that midfield to do the dirty jobs well.

Coady has recorded 34 appearances this season for Wolves and has already stated how his team have underachieved.

Coady is a big character at Molineux and in time could become a fan favourite, as they hope to push for a big top six finish next season.

Jordan Rossiter

rossiterrrr A signing for me that would be an incredible acquisition for Wolves. Dubbed the next Steven Gerrard by many, Rossiter has been frozen out of Jurgen Klopp's plans on Merseyside as the scouser will probably move on with a contract from Liverpool highly unlikely. The Championship would be the perfect level for Rossiter and Wolves could provide the perfect platform, with McDonald heading for the exit, Rossiter could slot in quite nicely.

Nick Powell

powell333 A versatile player who can play wide and through the middle, the ex-Manchester United man has fantastic attributes and could be available on a free transfer at the beginning of the summer months. His deal in Manchester will come to an end as Powell looks to move on. Currently part of a promotion chasing Hull City, Powell's career has stalled as injury has plagued him of a consistent spell at the top flight. Given a successful run, there is no doubt Powell would thrive in The Championship and will be wanted by a host of Championship clubs including Hull City. Hull will be the first in line but if they miss out on the 22-year-old, Wolves could once again make the perfect fit for Powell.

Nouha Dicko

Nouha-Dicko
Boss Kenny Jackett said welcoming Dicko back into the fold would feel like a new signing for Wolves. A compliment to the true meaning of Dicko's influence on this squad in near recent times.
His campaign when Wolves pushed for promotion was unlucky as the Midlands side just missed out, but was a hugely prolific one at that as he terrorised Championship defences and became alongside Afobe and Sako, one of the hottest properties in English football.
His recent injury has effected Wolves massively with a lack of goals and finishing ability upfront.
Dicko has scored 29 goals in 65 Wolves appearances and signed a new three-year contract last summer, amid interest from Premier League clubs.

Peter Odemwingie

Peter Odemwingie
A highly controversial but effective one.
Odemwingie could potentially be an incredible acquisition for Wolves.
Given his Albion connections Wolves fans may not be too keen, but the 34-year-old is quality in the opposition box, and with funds tight at Wolves, this free transfer could be the perfect addition to partner Dicko upfront.
Odemwingie isn’t one for the future but given Wolves’ lack of experience and nous in the forward areas this season he could make an ideal addition.
