Brentford secured their third consecutive victory on Monday night as they ran out with an impressive 3-1 victory over QPR in the West London derby.

Ollie Watkins was on target twice for Thomas Frank's side with Said Benrahma also converting from the spot to help seal a memorable win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium as they continued their run of good form.

The Bees were able to build on victories over Millwall and Swansea in recent weeks by delivering an assured performance against Mark Warburton's side, and they looked good value for the three points on the night.

Brentford's performances have reached new heights in recent weeks following their mixed start to the season, but they have become more clinical of late with their attacking unit of Said Benrahma, Ollie Watkins and Bryan Mbeumo all receiving plaudits.

However, there is also another important player who has really upped his game for the Bees in the recent run of matches. Christian Norgaard has shown signs he is really started to settle at the club, and this was clearly indicated by his measured performance against the Rs.

The Dane controlled the midfield alongside Jay Da Silva for large swathes of the match as he produced a calm and effective showing, while he had also produced a similar display during their previous match against Swansea.

Norgaard has been a regular feature in Frank's side since making his debut for the club back in mid-August, and it was clear at this stage that he needed some time to adapt to life at the club, but it now seems this phase is coming to an end.

The 25-year-old is completely free of the injury which prevented him from featuring in Brentford's opening two matches this season, and he has now become a vital cog in Frank's midfield.

His excellent showing at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium saw him beat the Rs' press by playing the ball through the midfield, while he made both defensive and attacking contributions for the Bees.

Norgaard is capable of offering a steely midfield presence that may have been lacking from the Brentford side in recent years, and it only looks as though he is getting even better with his continuously improving performances.

The midfielder looked at home while playing in a slightly deeper role on Monday night, and Bees fans will already be excited to see how much he can develop this term if he can make that role his own.
