Swansea City finished a disappointing 10th in the Championship table last season after their 7-year stay in the Premier League had been brought to an end in 2018.

Following Graham Potter's move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, former England under-17s World Cup-winning manager Steve Cooper came in as his replacement and has since led the Swans up to fourth in the table and are now just two points off the top.

However, ahead of their trip to Sheffield Wednesday, Cooper admitted that he is taking one game at a time and wasn't drawn on his side's promotion chances as he continues to impress during his first season as a club first-team manager.

The Swans supporters will be hopeful following the 39-year-old's answer, as it means that the players and management are planning for every game and that they take every game seriously in a bid to move on up the table and achieve their goals for the season.

Swansea supporters will be expecting play-offs minimum this campaign following a strong start in the first third of the season and with January around the corner, they will be hoping that Cooper can improve his squad to make a push for the league title and really go for it during the second half of the campaign.

Cooper's management this season has paid dividends as he was astute in the transfer market during the summer, bringing in the likes of Sam Surridge and Ben Wilmot on loan from Premier League sides, as well as signing one of the Championship's best left-backs Jake Bidwell to try and have a positive this season.

The former England under-17s manager has shown that he has the capability to do well for the club, and his experience this season will be important in the long run as the Swans dream of that Premier League return.

The Swans have the players on board already to be successful in the Premier League with the likes of Bersant Celina and Andre Ayew perhaps being of Premier League quality, and the supporters will be keen to see just how well they do this season under Cooper.
