Southend boss Phil Brown sees new signing Worralls ambitions match the clubs - promotion

''When speaking to David his ambition was clear. It matches that of both myself and this football club, which is a key factor for me when deciding the sort of player I want to bring to Roots Hall. Other clubs were interested, so naturally, I'm delighted that he chose to come and play his football with us. I'm sure he'll have a big say in how we get on this season.'' added Brown.

Worrall's lack of match action at Rotherham and him not being in the newly promoted sides plans this season, his match fitness isn't full, despite this, manager Brown is delighted with the progress he has made already.

If David had been alongside the rest of the group, he'd have come second overall (1,500m test). I'm sure if he'd have been in the competitive environment up against everyone else he could have gone even quicker. He's a player who works extremely hard.''
