The stand out fixture ahead of yesterday's Sky Bet League One games was the meeting between Yorkshire sides Bradford City and Sheffield United, and it didn't fail to deliver.

Billy Sharp scored twice to put United in front twice, but two goals within eight minutes from the home side turned the game on it's head, before Chris Basham equalised for the Blades to make it 3-3, and that was how it finished.

League leaders Scunthorpe United returned to winning ways by thrashing Chesterfield 3-0 at the Proact Stadium. Josh Morris, Kevin van Veen and Sam Mantom the scorers for the visitors.

Charlton Athletic rescued a point away to Gillingham through a Nicky Ajose penalty, after Bradley Dack had put the home side in the lead, and debutant Ryan Taylor scored for Port Vale as they came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Oxford United at Vale Park.

Coventry City made it back-to-back wins after a 2-0 home win over Rochdale, Daniel Agyei put the Sky Blues in front in the first half before Andre Wright sealed the win in the 84th minute. It also finished 2-0 at Boundary Park, as visitors Bristol Rovers claimed all three points against Oldham Athletic through goals from Charlie Colkett and Jake Clarke-Salter.

Two penalties from Lee Gregory helped Millwall to a much-needed win, as they beat Fleetwood 2-1 at The Den, whilst at stadium:mk, Southend United bagged a 3-0 away win over MK Dons, with Anthony Wordsworth's brace adding to Simon Cox's opener.

AFC Wimbledon moved up into the top six after a 1-0 victory at Peterborough United, Tom Elliott's goal after 10 minutes enough to bag all three points. Meanwhile at Swindon Town, the Turkish Messi Erhun Oztumer scored both goals as Walsall beat their hosts 2-0.

Northampton Town won a six-goal thriller at the New Meadow by beating Shrewsbury Town 4-2. Gabriel Zakuani and Paul Anderson put the Cobblers 2-0 up, before Ivan Toney pulled one back for the Shrews. But Rob Page's side went 4-1 in front in the second half and, in the 94th minute, Toney scored his second from the penalty spot.

After 15 matches, Scunthorpe remain top, with Bradford their nearest competitor. Bristol Rovers and AFC Wimbledon both move into the play-off places, whilst down at the foot of the table, Coventry move up but remain in the drop zone as Oldham and Chesterfield slip downwards. Shrewsbury still sit in 24th place.
