Sheffield Wednesday got back to winning ways on Friday night, beating QPR 2-1 in their FA Cup fourth round tie at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

It was an important performance from the Owls, who had suffered a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Blackburn Rovers last weekend.

They face another North West side in the Championship tomorrow evening as they travel to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic.

Wednesday will be looking to get their promotion push back on track, having won just once in their last five league games, and may feel confident of getting a result against a Latics side that are 23rd in the Championship.

Wigan have won just once since October and look like serious candidates for the drop as things stand.

A win tomorrow evening could move the Owls to within one point of the top six and with that in mind, here is the starting XI that we expect Garry Monk to opt for.

Dawson has emerged as Wednesday's first-choice shot-stopper in recent months, playing every Championship game since late October.

The 24-year-old was at fault for QPR's goal on Saturday but you'd imagine he remains the clear number one.

The Wednesday boss hinted that Liam Palmer is unlikely to be ready, despite being back in full training, which likely means teenager Osaze Urhoghide will return at right-back.

After missing the FA Cup tie on Friday, it seems likely that Dominic Iorfa will return to the starting XI alongside Julian Borner and Morgan Fox, with captain Tom Lees dropping out.

They could be in for a somewhat quiet evening, as Wigan are the lowest scorers in the Championship this season.

With that in mind, you'd imagine Monk may look to be positive against the Latics and opt for a 4-4-2, rather than a 4-1-4-1.

Barry Bannan and Kieran Lee were rested for Friday evening's game but it seems likely they will return in central midfield, with Sam Hutchinson's fitness uncertain after coming off with an injury at the KPF and Massimo Luongo sidelined with a groin strain.

Adam Reach proved a different maker from the bench on Friday evening, setting up Sam Winnall's eventual winner, and he looks likely to return on the flanks.

Winnall grabbed his second goal of the season and he looks set to start up top alongside big man Atdhe Nuhiu, with Jordan Rhodes producing another anonymous performance against QPR.

The absence of top scorer Steven Fletcher remains an issue for Monk's men but tomorrow evening may provide Nuhiu and Winnall a chance to prove themselves.
