Cameron Dawson has said that 'it's always nice' to feel wanted after being backed by Garry Monk to succeed at Sheffield Wednesday.

The goalkeeper is out of contract next summer but has been told that he's in the Owls' long-term plans by the manager.

The 24-year-old has found regular first team action hard to nail down, but has found himself in favour in recent weeks following Monk's decision to drop Kieren Westwood.

Dawson will be keen to impress as he looks to earn a new deal at Hillsborough, but he'll no doubt have his eye on the reported interest from Derby County and Glasgow Rangers.

“I’ve had some really open, positive talks with the manager.
“In terms of contract talks, that’s not started yet.”
