The wide man who had an impressive loan spell with Wednesday, has yet to reach the potential he showed in the promotion winning side two seasons ago at Wednesday.

Marshall, 23,  made only 18 appearances for Rovers last season chipping in with two goals and can't be promised a key role in Blackburn's promotion push and its thought Gary Bowyer is ready to let the Marshall move on.

Marshall remains a fans favourite at Hillsborough and would be welcomed back to South Yorkshire. Marshall scored five times in 22 appearances on his loan spell at Hillsborough from Stoke.

Stuart Gray is keen to add quality to his squad but admits, he his frustrated at the situation regarding the ratification of the takeover which will see Hafiz Mammadov take control of the club.

The Wednesday boss has missed out on players due to this matter but has several deals lined up for when the Football League ratifies the takeover.
