Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping for more of a promotion push during the 2019/20 campaign following a turbulent time last season.

The Owls looked as though they could be dragged into a relegation scrap with Jos Luhukay's decisions continuing to backfire before he was finally sacked just before Christmas.

After Steve Bruce's arrival, however, their fortunes turned around quickly with a lengthy unbeaten run taking them from the cusp of the drop zone into play-off contention.

Although they eventually fell away it showed that, with a full summer's preparation, Bruce could be the man to turn them back into promotion contenders.

But he may have an unwanted departure to contend with soon.

On Wednesday it was reported by Albanian outlet Ljalm that the Macedonian Champions KF Shkëndija were preparing a move for target man Atdhe Nuhiu.

But how should the Hillsborough faithful feel about these rumours?

Despite never becoming a goalscoring sensation, Nuhiu has been a reliable goalscoring presence and their most effective last season.

The Kosovo international found the net 14 times in all competitions, nothing spectacular but still the most out of the club's strikers.

Bruce is clearly keen to put his mark on the squad and, having already released a host of players, Nuhiu clearly remains part of his plans.

So it should be a worry for the fans that club's may begin to circle for his services this summer considering the work that already needs to be done.

All of a sudden, it leaves Bruce and his team with another big hole to fill in his squad on what is likely to be a fairly limited budget anyway.

Personally I think that unless the offer is a significant and seriously helpful one, it should be rejected.

But I am not on the Wednesday board so it is hard to tell what direction they will choose to go in.

And for now, these rumours should be a concern.
