Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of ex-Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe on loan, the club have confirmed.

Drenthe has signed a loan deal at the Owls until January 2nd 2015 after leaving fellow Championship club Reading.

The 27-year-old was at Spanish giants Real Madrid from 2007 until 2012 and the Dutch winger amassed 46 appearances, scoring two goals during his time there.

He has since had spells at Hercules, Everton and Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz.

Drenthe made 23 appearances for the Royals last season and scored two goals during his time at the Madejski Stadium.
