Manchester City midfielder George Evans, who is currently on loan at Walsall is being tracked by Brentford, with the Bees in pole position to sign him, according to HITC.

Former Walsall boss, Dean Smith who was appointed as the new Brentford boss last week, wants the Manchester City starlet to join him at Griffin Park.

The publication claims that Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley, Wolves and MK Dons are also keen.

The midfielder, who initially agreed a one month loan spell at the West Midlands club has earned himself a loan extension till January after impressing for the Saddlers.

Evans has contributed majorly to Walsall’s successful season as they sit in third place in League One.

He has scored three goals in five appearances for the club, and has been on loan twice before with Crewe and Scunthorpe and could test himself in the Championship with Brentford.

He made his debut for Manchester City in September, replacing Yaya Toure in their 3-1 win over Sunderland.

Evans, the son of former Manchester City physio Ronnie Evans, has represented England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-20 level.
