A host of clubs from the Championship and League One are keeping tabs on Northampton winger Paul Anderson, according to HITC.

Amongst the clubs interested are Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City, whilst League One pacesetters Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United are also eyeing a move for the winger.

Anderson arrived at Sixfields in the summer, signing a one-year deal with the Cobblers, which leaves him with around six months left on his current deal.

Despite Northampton struggling for consistency in League One, his form hasn't gone unnoticed, and his contract situation means all interested parties could get him in what could be a cut price deal, which makes the prospect of signing him slightly more attractive.

However, Northampton are reluctant to let their star man go as they seek to pull themselves away from the relegation zone, and they see Anderson as a huge part of doing so.

The former England Under-19 international has played a big role for Northampton this season and his creativity from out wide could be exactly what these teams need to either stay up, or gain promotion.
