As per the Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest are within the FFP guidelines in part thanks to the sale of Ben Brereton to Blackburn Rovers.

Forest are having a good season and remain on course for at least a play-off place in the Sky Bet Championship, which is why they'll surely be eager to see the campaign resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Under Evangelos Marinakis, then, things are looking fairly strong at the City Ground and, despite losses financially, the sale of the likes of Brereton to Rovers for a decent fee has ensured the Reds are not overstepping the mark that FFP sets.

Across the last three year period, Forest find themselves within almost £10m of where FFP allows them to be in terms of losses and, with Brebreton going for around £7m, you can see how such shrewd sales could help them keep things in check.

The Verdict

Marinakis seems to be doing a good job at running the football club and Reds fans will be pleased that all the signs are he has the best interest of the Reds at heart.

With this news and plans for a redeveloped City Ground well established, there's plenty of good stuff to talk about on Trentside, and that's before you consider how well they've done this season too.
