West Bromwich Albion youngster Rekeem Harper revealed his delight at having played his part in the club's recent 2-0 win over Preston North End yesterday, as the league leaders increased their lead over Leeds United in second to seven points.

The talented midfielder completed his first 90 minutes of the campaign in the league this term on Tuesday as he continues to bounce back from playing under 23 level football for much of the campaign to date under Slaven Bilic.

A West Brom academy graduate, Harper hadn't started a game for the first team since way back in the start of January against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup, indicating that his manager perhaps didn't see him as more than a fringe player for his side.

However Harper did get the nod last night and the tennager was unsuprisingly quick to take to

Harper originally broke through to the first team set up at the Hawthorns back in the 2017/2018 season and has since gone on to make over 30 appearances for the Baggies, whilst the 19-year-old also spent a short spell out on loan with Blackburn Rovers back in the 2017/2018 campaign.

With two years remaining on his current contract, Harper will no doubt be keen to prove to Bilic that he deserves further opportunities to nail down a starting place at the Hawthorns over the coming months after coming in for the suspended Romaine Sawyers this week.
