Leeds United sent a cheeky six-word message to Hull City via Twitter after last night's victory, which has drawn an excited response from fans of the club.

The Whites beat their Yorkshire rivals 2-0 at Elland Road yesterday to go top of the Championship.

After a tight first half, an own goal from Tigers defender Jordy de Wijs gave the hosts the lead before Ezgjan Alioski doubled the deficit with his second goal in two games.

That win means Leeds have now won seven in a row and have opened up an 11-point gap on third place.

Hull are amongst the top scorers in the division this season but they were kept quiet by the Whites' resolute defensive performance.

Jarrod Bowen, who has contributed to more Championship goals than any other player in the current campaign (14 goals and four assists), was particularly poor.

Via their official Twitter account, Leeds took a cheeky dig at Hull over Bowen's quiet evening, quoting one of their rival's recent tweets.

Unsurprisingly, the club's tweet was very well received by many Leeds fans, who took to Twitter to express their thoughts.
