Preston North End supporters have all been saying the same thing about the value of defender Ben Davies, with the 24-year-old being linked with a move away from Deepdale, as per the Sun.

Davies has been amongst the best defenders in the Championship so far this season, and has formed an effective partnership with summer signing Patrick Bauer at the heart of Preston's defence, which has seen the 24-year-old improve his ability to help organise the Lilywhites' back four and keep them solid at the back.

Alex Neil's side have enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign with the Lilywhites currently sitting in third place in the league and having scored the most goals in the division, with 23 league goals already at least two more than any other side.

Davies and Preston's defence as a unit has been a large part of that, with the Lilywhites having a solid base from which to build their attacks, which is a vital component for Neil's side with the 24-year-old able to step out of defence and intercept opposition attacks and then allow the attacking players to expose sides on the counter when they have left themselves open.

Given Davies' form so far this season, it is perhaps no surprise to see him being linked with moves to the Premier League, but the 24-year-old is an excellent place for his development currently, with Neil knowing how to get the best out of him and therefore he could well be wise to stay at Deepdale for at least until the end of the campaign and then assess things in the summer.

Preston supporters will be very much hoping that Davies does remain with the club following the end of the January window, and they have been keen to point his value to them on social media...
