Paul Heckingbottom has praised the attitude of Sander Berge and Iliman Ndiaye.

The pair’s future at Sheffield United has been called into question this month with speculation surrounding a potential move.

But the Blades’ boss believes that the duo have not been impacted by that speculation in the slightest.

Heckingbottom has highlighted the attitude they’ve shown through this period, praising them for carrying on their duties as normal.

The 45-year old believes that it tells you everything you need to know about both players and that it has helped the atmosphere around the team.

“They’ve shown what they’re all about,” said Heckingbottom, via The Star.

“They’ve shown they want to be a part of what we’re trying to do.

“That shines through, not only in terms of what they’re doing, but how they are around the place.”

“The way the lads have been performing, the way they’ve been going about things.

“Well, it tells you everything.”

It has been made clear that neither player is considered up for sale this month, but that has not stopped the likes of Everton and Roma being linked with a possible transfer offer to try and tempt the Championship club.

Berge and Ndiaye have been key to Heckingbottom’s side this season, with the team now looking to have a great chance at earning automatic promotion to the Premier League this campaign.

United are 13 points clear of 3rd place Watford, sitting 2nd in the table.

The Verdict

The pair have gone about their business as normal despite potentially big moves being on the horizon.

It is plausible that both could have kicked up a fuss to try and force a move but that hasn’t materialised, much to their credit.

Heckingbottom has highlighted their attitude publicly, which is deserved given how impressive they have been for the team.

If United can hold onto them beyond this January window then they will be in a strong position to earn promotion and hold onto the pair into next season.
