Paddy Madden admits that he had to leave Yeovil in January after he "fought and argued" with the coaching staff, reports Western Gazette.

Madden was prolific during his time at Yeovil and was happy with the way his career was going at Huish Park.

This all changed when he returned for pre season following the club's promotion to the Championship.

Speaking to the Irish Evening Herald, Madden admitted that his relationship with the club's coaching staff turned sour.

He said “It was great for a while at Yeovil and that experience, a young Dublin lad scoring at Wembley, was something else, but it ended badly.

“For whatever reason, when I came back after the summer break the staff were on my case all the time, they were making me do extra running, I was made train on my own for four or five weeks.

“We got on great for a long time, you could see how we were on the pitch at Wembley after we won the playoff, we got on really well but for whatever reason things turned bad, we started fighting and arguing, one thing led to another and my time there was up.”

“It all started so well and it's funny to think it was a year ago this month I was playing against Wales for Ireland.

“I had obviously done well as Trapattoni picked me for the next games, the qualifiers against Sweden and Austria but I had an injury in training and had to pull out, I was out for seven weeks, and when I got back from the injury I fell out with the manager at Yeovil.

“It went from such a high to a real low, the injury and then all that happened with Yeovil, a lot of hard times. But I am back now, playing well (at Scunthorpe United), I've scored already this season so that pressure to get the first goal is off and I can look forward now with a bit of confidence.”
