Football League World's Brentford fan pundit Rhys Byron has summed up how goalkeeper David Raya has started the season at Griffin Park, following the Spaniard's summer move from fellow Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The Barcelona born shot stopper has performed well for his new club so far, keeping four clean sheets and conceding just 13 times in his opening 15 games for the Bees.

Raya was brought in as a direct replacement for Daniel Bentley, who of course departed Griffin Park for pastures new with Bristol City this summer, following a solid career in west London.

Given the big boots that Raya has had to fill upon his arrival at the club, we decided to Byron for his thoughts on the 24-year-old's start to the season, with our fan pundit replying:

"So far he’s looked very good and compliments our defence well, from which there is an understanding and confidence from everyone as a collective.

"There are moments where he has had a lapse in concentration.

"But overall he’s made a positive start and our net is a lot safer with him guarding it."

Byron then gave his thoughts on how Raya compares to their former keeper, Bentley, with the Brentford fan pundit stating:

"Raya still makes mistakes, like any keeper, but he’s miles better than Bentley.

"We’ve conceded less goals than Bentley’s new club, which have means we’ve won games we could of drawn and drawn games we could have lost.

"I think he’s a massive improvement on Bentley, looking more assured in his actions, there’s more of a belief when he’s involved than there ever truly was last season."

Given the positive start that Raya has made to his first season at Griffin Park, Byron and the wider Griffin Park faithful will be hoping that his form continues as Thomas Frank's men look to maintain their gradual climb up the Championship table after a disappointing start.
