Following a successful first season back in the Championship last season, Preston have arguably followed it up in better fashion this time round as they currently sit in 11th position, and 5 points better off than this time last year.

They have been more than a match for most sides they've met so far this campaign, including victories over Huddersfield and Norwich who were both in the top 4 at the time.

And on many occasions, the games which they haven't taken all three points from have been a case of missed chances.

The Preston fans have been crying out for a lethal striker in the last few seasons and Simon Grayson has brought forwards to the club in the hope that they will fit the bill.

Attackers including Eoin Doyle and Simon Makienok have been brought to Deepdale but, whilst they've chipped in with a few goals along the way, they haven't been prolific in a North End shirt.

Middlesbrough forward David Nugent is linked with the Whites pretty much every window, including the current one, and sections of the Deepdale faithful remain hopeful of his return.

Unfortunately for the Whites, Nugent looks to be outside of their budget but Simon Grayson will be, or certainly should be, looking at other possibilities out there.

Creativity is certainly not an issue for the Championship side with players such as Paul Gallagher and Aiden McGeady posing a constant threat. They just need somebody to get on the end of their good work.

In my opinion, if a striker is brought in who is capable of hitting the back of the net when the chance arises, then a play-off place is well within reach of the Lilywhites.

They seem more than capable in all areas of the pitch but a striker could add just what the Whites need to make them a complete Championship team.

Preston fans... Do you agree that you could find yourselves in the play-offs if a prolific striker is brought to the club? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
