Huddersfield manager David Wagner has had widespread reports linking him with a move away from Yorkshire and back to his native Germany.

The reports are suggesting that VfL Wolfsburg are close to naming him as their new manager after doubts surrounding Valerien Ismael's future increased.

David Wagner is thought to be tempted by this offer, given the historical stature of Wolfsburg, who are currently just above the relegation zone in the Bundesliga.

But I believe that Wagner is best off sticking around at Huddersfield.

What he has built with the Terriers is extremely impressive.

Huddersfield had been a lower mid-table team at best for several years in the second tier after winning promotion from League One.

David Wagner was given his first full summer of spending and people were doubting his recruitment, citing a lack of Championship experience as the reason why they were widely tipped for the drop.

But the likes of Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer, Manchester City loanee Aaron Mooy and German Elias Kachunga have given Huddersfield an exciting attack.

In defence, goalkeeper Danny Ward - on loan from Liverpool - and Christopher Schindler have been keeping things tight at the back.

David Wagner is pioneering an exciting project at Huddersfield which is only just beginning really.

With the club sitting 4th at Christmas, in great form and challenging for a historic first ever promotion to the Premier League, why would he leave?

Surely he should stick it out at Huddersfield and if things don't work out by, say, the end of the season then he can consider his options elsewhere.

Huddersfield fans - what do you think? Should Wagner stay? Or is Wolfsburg too good an offer to refuse? Let us know in the comments below...
