The takeover by a US consortium ran by John Jay Moores is extremely close at the City Ground, meaning there could be better times ahead for Forest fans after some torrid years under owner Fawaz Al Hasawi.

The Reds are in trouble in the bottom half of the table sitting in 20th position, only two points off the bottom three, and if they lose on Saturday away at Birmingham City then there is a chance they could slip into the relegation zone.

Nonetheless, there should be plenty of optimism and hope surrounding the club by next week with the takeover and a potential change in manager.

Whoever is in charge by next week, the Reds are in desperate need of some fresh faces at the club both on and off the pitch to help push them up the table and away from the bottom three.

Forest may struggle to attract some quality from the Championship so a move for some fringe players from the Premier League could be a clever move.

So... Here is why Forest should look to sign this Manchester United man and this Arsenal player next week...

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

The Reds' defence this season has been shocking after only picking up one clean sheet all season.

Current boss Philippe Montanier has frequently changed his back four/five around every week and the East Midlands club have lacked any defensive solidarity all season.

Fosu-Mensah, a powerful, strong defender would provide this and the 19-year-old is exactly the sort of defender that could help Forest pick up some clean sheets, and look much more organised.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide

Reine-Adelaide needs a successful loan move to help him push for a place in the first team at Arsenal and Forest would be an ideal destination for him.

The talented winger would provide an attacking threat for the Reds, and help them score the goals to fire them up the league table.

Reine-Adelaide caught the eye of a few Forest fans when he played in the Gunners' 0-4 win at the City Ground in the EFL Cup earlier this season, and I am sure fans would welcome him back in Nottingham after impressing that day.
