Norwich City are closing in on the signing of Rochdale midfielder Daniel Adshead, according to Football Insider.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the EFL and made 25 appearances for Rochdale last season since breaking into the first-team two seasons ago.

The attacking midfielder scored one goal in 16 appearances for Rochdale last season and Football Insider claim that he has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.

The highly-rated youngster now looks set to move to the top flight, as Norwich have reportedly agreed a fee with Rochdale in the region of £300,000 for his services.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke was able to guide the Canaries to the Championship tight last season by recruiting smartly and giving young players a chance and it seems he is going to continue that way in the top flight.

The Verdict

This could be a very good signing for Norwich. Adshead is regarded as one of the most talented young players in the EFL and he could have a bright future ahead of him.

I'm sure Rochdale will be very reluctant to lose a player with so much potential, but Adshead seems destined for bigger and better things and I'm sure they expected this to happen sooner or later.

The 17-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham and you don't attract interest from those sorts of clubs unless you're a very good player.

He could be a great signing for Norwich and is definitely one to watch out for in the future.
